with presentation of the Dekoloniale Berlin Residency & Dekoloniale City Walk
The Dekoloniale Festival is part of the sub-project Dekoloniale In[ter]ventions and condenses as well as reflects the themes associated with the overall Dekoloniale project in artistic and discursive contributions.
During the multi-day festival format, the artistic and performative works of the annual artist in residency (Dekoloniale Berlin Residency) will be presented on the one hand, and on the other hand, a Dekoloniale City Walk will be undertaken through the respective Berlin district in order to highlight Berlin's colonial and resistance history at historical sites (2021: East, 2022: South, 2023 West, 2024 North). The festival program is rounded up by spoken contributions (e.g. panel discussions, keynotes, workshops, etc.) as well as performative formats (e.g. music, film, theater performances).
