Mwishoni mwa Vita vya Kidunia vya pili aliishi Gaudystraße 5 na mumewe wa wakati huo Ludwig M'bebe Mpessa, ambaye alikuwa mwanaharakati wa kisiasa na pia mwigizaji aliyefanikiwa chini ya jina la kisanii Louis Brody. Vikwazo kwa wawili hao sasa vinawekwa katika anwani hii. Kuanzia 1946 Erika Diek aliishi Tempelhof, ambapo yeye na dada yake waliwapa watu weusi fursa ya kukutana na kuungana.
