Hadithi za wanawake waliopinga udhalimu wa kikoloni na kutiishwa wakati wa utawala wa kikoloni wa Wajerumani nchini Kamerun kuanzia 1884 hadi 1916 hazijaandikwa kwa urahisi na hivyo mara nyingi hazijulikani. Uficho huu mara nyingi hupelekea dhana kwamba upinzani dhidi ya ukoloni ulikuwa na ni wa kiume pekee.

Kwa hakika, mapokeo simulizi mara kwa mara huwa na marejeleo ya wanawake: yaliwasaidia wanaume wao kuepuka kazi ya kulazimishwa kwa kuimba nyimbo au kutoa hotuba za kuwaonya. Wanawake pia walicheza nafasi kubwa katika upinzani, kama kisa cha Adda Nkollo kinavyoonyesha. Adda Nkollo alikuwa mwanamke kutoka Mvog-Ada ambaye alipinga utawala wa kikoloni wa Ujerumani kwa mafanikio mwaka 1907 kwamba hatimaye alifukuzwa.
