Presentation of the Dekoloniale resident Dior Thiam on the south bank of the carp pond in Treptower Park with artistic text performances
From October 13-20, 2021 - 125 years after the First German Colonial Exhibition - the art project "Sight In/Visible Site" examines Berlin's Treptower Park as a place of collective history. Tracing the layout of the architectural forms that were built in 1896 for the enclosures of the 'human zoos' on the south bank of the carp pond, the artist asks what remains when history is made invisible. Who or what remembers whom? What is a historical site?
The presentation on October 16th at 11 a.m. will be accompanied by performances by the theater group BAAB together with the writers and spoken word artists Alicia Wenzel, Fatima Njoya, Landouma Ipé and Savannah Sipho.
