On Thursday, March 2nd, 2023, the follow-up event for the "Colonialism" memorial concept for Berlin will take place in the Academy of Arts .
Presentation of the interim results

In the first part of the follow-up event from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., the results of the working groups will be presented, which have been dedicated to various issues since the kick-off event:
What does a concept of remembrance for colonialism need? Which actors and positions have to be taken into account during the development? What are the peculiarities of a city like Berlin, which is both capital and city-state with a divided history (East and West Berlin)? What are the expectations in the former German colonies? And what role does global colonialism play in the concept?
These and other questions will be discussed together with representatives of civil society, Afro and Asia diasporic organizations.

From 7 p.m. there will be a public part with a panel discussion in which various theses on the topic of culture of remembrance will be questioned from a scientific, artistic and academic perspective. Those involved in the program will be announced promptly.
