Dekoloniale Festival 2024, Day 3: City walk through Berlin Mitte with discursive, performative and artistic interventions
As every year, the all-day Dekoloniale City Tour will take place with many interesting historical and contemporary stops and corresponding interventions by our invited experts from science, art and activism. This year we will be traveling on foot and by public transport in Berlin-Mitte.
We will visit the participatory portrait exhibition in the “African Quarter” and view the artistic interventions of the Dekoloniale Residents.
We pay tribute to previously neglected resistant figures from history and the present and follow the traces of the centuries-long involvement of Berlin in the global history of slavery and colonialism. The tour concludes with a visit to two sections of the collaborative exhibition “Dekoloniale – what remains?!” at the Museum Nikolaikirche.
Meeting point: from 9:30 am on the platform of the subway station “Afrikanische Straße”
Registration: Limited number of participants: Register by November 7, 2024 using the linked registration form. Comfortable shoes and warm clothing are recommended!
