Digital Road Trip: »The Decolonial [Re]visions Team takes part in the Hamburg Symposium 'Dealing with Colonial Street Names'.«
online | Event link after registration
In this third edition of the Dekoloniale [Re]visionen Denkwerkstatt, Dekoloniale colleagues Nadja Ofuatey-Alazard (EOTO eV) and Christian Kopp (Berlin Postkolonial eV) visit their Hamburg colleagues who are touring in thematically related spaces. The Dekoloniale as a Berlin pilot project enters into a professional exchange with Hamburg experts from activism, science, culture and administration and, within panel discussions, explores questions such as how a decolonization of cities and their institutions should look like and here in particular what Hamburg's future handling of colonial street names should be. As an experimental series of events, the Dekoloniale [Re]visions think tank as a format in motion is primarily dedicated to the exchange with neighboring spaces, actors and ideas. In this way, we are taking part in the 3rd edition of the symposium on the topic »Dealing with Colonial Street Names«, organized by the Hamburg State Archives, which will take place on September 16th and 17th, 2021 in Hamburg. The symposium will take place digitally via zoom on September 16 from 10.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on September 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The entire program for the event can be found here .
After registering at verkehrsflaechenbennenung@staatsarchiv.hamburg.de, the zoom link to the symposium will be sent to you about 1-2 days before the event.
