Dekoloniale Festival Tour 2021 – Berlin, East, Germany
in[ter]ventions: Festivals
The Dekoloniale Festival 2021 condensed and reflected the themes associated with the overall Dekoloniale project through artistic and discursive contributions. This year, we visited East Berlin: Between October 15 and 17, we opened the revised permanent exhibition "Looking Back – The First German Colonial Exhibition of 1896 in Berlin-Treptow" at the Treptow-Köpenick District Museum. We also presented the artistic interventions of the three Dekoloniale Berlin Residences 2021 to the public and discussed whether and how a decolonization of the museum might be possible.
