The exhibition “Dekoloniale – what remains?!” addresses Berlin’s centuries-long entanglement in the global history of enslavement and colonialism and critically examines this violent past.
It looks at three prominent places of coloniality in Berlin-Mitte: The Museum Nikolaikirche, housing thee tombs of colonial figures, the (post-)colonial memorial that is the African Quarter and the "Asian-Pacific Streets" in the Wedding district, as well as the historical venue of the 1884/1885 Berlin Conference on Wilhelmstraße 92:

Mynaka Sururu Mboro guides us through Berlin's African Quarter and sheds light on the renmaing process of the streets and the reorganisation of memory culture towards an appreciation of African resistance.
